It's my Birthday

Image
In three decades I have primarily learnt Ecclesiastes  9:11, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. I have also experienced Romans  9:16 that, it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. I have enjoyed mercy and grace yet my prayers is that I may dwell in his will and never fall short of his master plan for me.  Ojo ki nugwa, I am + 1 and I am grateful.

How Far?

Image
If you are in Nigeria or have stayed in some parts of Nigeria, you must have heard this question "how far?" from someone. It connotes either of "what is the progress report" or "how are you doing?" We are fast moving in the fourth month of 2022 already, HOW FAR? What has changed, what has improved, what have you given up or what have you picked up towards becoming a better version of you? Life is measured in time and the value of time is in its use. It's much easier to waste it. Don't wait for anyone to ask you about the progress report of the decisions you consciously made at the beginning of the year. At the end of it all it will be a question that only you will have to answer so start answering it now. Are you still on track or have you drifted off the track? It's not a time for long words, just answer the question, HOW FAR? © Ojonugwa, J. A

THE COST OF IMPACT

Image
The biggest sacrifice of a king maker is that, he may never become a king in his life time, it is a cost worth paying for a sense of purpose and duty.  We often think, dream and plan to be big but not many people deliberately take time to count the cost. I saw this somewhere in my Bible that a wise man counts his cost before engaging in an assignment (paraphrased). How often do you really take time to weigh the cost and benefits of your actions? Honestly speaking, you are not designed to do everything even when you can do all things. I know some folks may want to question that statement, but it is the truth. Observations have shown that one of our biggest problem is the unconcious desire to be good at everything. This desire is not bad and it is sometimes achievable. However, that was not your primary configuration. I made a drastic change in my life back in secondary school or what some people call high school that I will never forget why. The counselling team told us ...
