Heralds with Julius O. Akubo

On Heralds this week is .......

A mentor and a father to so many people globally, he is an ucommon personallity that is characterised with an unbeatable lifestyle of Humility.

He is .....

He was born on the 2nd of march 1948 in Iferewa, Osun state, Nigeria. He was born into a  poor family and they were really poor that he once stated humorously that even the poor called his family poor. Daddy GO as he is aslo called never owned shoes until he was 18 years. Now this background issues that could have being set back to so many in the world of today did not in any way put the young Enoch's back on the ground. He was rather so determined and focused to succeed hence was unequivocally consistent in diligence. He attended the Ilesha Grammar school in osun state where his interest for mathematics was clearly spelt out. He attended the famous University of Nigeria Nsuka where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics in 1967, still in 1967 he got married to his beloved wife Foluke Adenike Adeboye and marriage was blessed with four children three boys and one girl alongside their so many grand and great grand children today. Daddy GO didn't stop schooling after his BSc as he later proceeded to obtain his MSc in Hydrodynamics in 1969 and  a PhD in applied mathematics in 1975 from the university of Lagos, Lagos state, Nigeria. All this academic zeal was majorly out of his ambition to become the youngest vice Chancellor of any of the famous Nigerian universities. But just as its always said God has the final say in every issue. He joined the RCCG in 1973 while he still worked as a lecturer with the University of Lagos and Ilorin. After joining the RCCG he started he began working to translate the sermons of its founder and then Pastor, Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, from Yoruba language into English language. By 1977 he was ordained a pastor in RCCG and by 1981 he was ordained the General overseer when the founder passed on to glory. He worked part time for three years after his ordination before resigning lecturing to settle for preaching the gospel fully. Ever since then he has being a channel of spiritual revitalization and building to so many Christians all over the world. The church currently has several branches globally in about 196 nations (as at March 2017), including more than 14,000 in Nigeria. His vision is to put a church within five minutes of every person on Earth and that he is gracefully achieving. Daddy Enoch Adejere Adeboye is now 75 years, he is the national president of RCF and has won so many awards both locally and internationally an he is indeed a blessing to the world.

Moral lessons

I will just go straight to the point, the glearing lessons in the life of Daddy GO among so many other lessons are:

1. If poverty or background challenges was a criteria for failure in life then Enoch Adejare Adeboye would never have being a success. But if you agree with me that Daddy GO is a success then no background challenge whatsoever is genuine enough to make you end a failure. The key factor is God, find him.

2. There is a big difference between purpose and career even though your purpose could possibly find expression through your career. But be informed that global genuine impart is only experienced when purpose is discovered. Don't just exist, discover the reason for your existence.
